Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a new challenge?

We are pleased to be offering the opportunity of recruiting Registered Nurse’s into our Hugo Liebeschuetz Neonatal Unit. We are extremely proud of our Neonatal Unit, and have on-going commitment to enhancing practice and staff development. This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Newborn babies and their families.

Our Team is highly regarded in the Hospital and the care provided is second to none, so we are welcoming applications from Nurses who want to help us bring further success to the Unit and aid us in providing an excellent service.

About our Neonatal Unit:
Southend is the only Neonatal Unit in Essex with Stage 2 UNICEF neonatal standards. Part of the East of England Neonatal network, this dynamic level 2 unit has 16 cots and is part of the Eastern Neonatal Network.

Our Neonatal unit is superbly equipped and resourced to care for all the sick and premature babies born at the hospital and in the local area, and also provides facilities for parents and carers.

Our Neonatal Unit is extraordinary because not only do we provide excellent care for patients, we also care for all of our Staff.

Southend-On-Sea is an exciting place to live, work and enjoy life. Just under an hour from London and Europe (either by rail or air), Southend and the surrounding area is vibrant and cosmopolitan. Local schools have an excellent reputation and the nearby seaside provides a pleasant backdrop as well as opportunities for fun or relaxation. The attractive nearby town of popular Leigh-On-Sea provides an alternative location for many professionals to settle and wind down after work.
