 All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery.  All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly.  Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making.  Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to strengthen their existing security workforce to provide a service that will protect, advise, investigate and take action to create and maintain a safe and secure environment for the public and staff at all times.

Bank Security Officers are required to attend shifts at short notice with a lead time of approximately 45 minutes and must provide a comprehensive service to the Hospital and Satellite sites in all weather and conditions.

We are currently looking to recruit friendly and flexible Bank Security Officers who are SIA qualified to predominately cover between two areas:

One on one security (Main Site):
1:1 Officers will be required to supervise and safeguard patients; this may include level 4 patients who have the potential to be abusive or at risk of self-harm.

Medical Records security (Britannia House):
As well as undertaking internal & external patrols of the buildings in Britannia business park the role will also require the security officer to pull records from the medical records library. This requires a certain level of literacy and organisation skills. Other typical duties will include: Checking that all doors and windows are secure, checking the fire alarm, unlocking and opening overflow car park etc.
