Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

A seaside opportunity for dynamic Emergency Nurse Practitioners to join Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s busy Emergency Department

Would you like to join our friendly team in a busy and demanding emergency department? You’ll need post-registration experience, excellent communication skills and, of course, a passion for nursing.
We are currently recruiting for 2 full time Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) to help maintain the very high standards of care we strive to maintain. The successful candidates will help deliver the quality and safety agenda for the department and provide excellent leadership skills to the diverse team.

Our dynamic, caring and highly-motivated team are looking for a ENP who can communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and relatives as well as other team members. No two days in the department are ever the same, so we can guarantee a varied and interesting workload. In return, we would need someone with excellent organisational skills, the capability to prioritise a busy workload, masses of professionalism, good teamwork skills and an ability to work under pressure.

In return, we promise a supportive and friendly place to work where our values: ‘Caring with compassion, Working together and being Professional and Accountable’ matters. We aim to provide excellent care from excellent people so that all hospital users – whether patient or visitor – have a good experience of their time with us.

Southend University Hospital is an extremely rewarding place to work. We offer exceptionally attractive staff benefits such as an excellent pension scheme, staff discounts, an onsite nursery with special rates for staff and an initial guaranteed annual leave entitlement of 27 days (pro rata), rising to 33 days after seven years in the job. We offer an attractive recruitment & retention package. Please Contact Recruitment for details.

Southend itself is a lively and vibrant seaside town, most famous for having the world’s longest pier. The town is renowned for its wide variety of cultural and sporting opportunities, with top-class theatres, arts and music festivals and water sports. It also prides itself on offering a buzzing nightlife with clubs, excellent restaurants and bistros. There are outstanding shops as well as plenty of parks and open spaces.
