Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.
We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.
We want staff who will live our trust values every day.
Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable
This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.
All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.
Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.
We are looking for a Operating Theatre Practitioner to compliment, our team during our busier periods working for our hospital Bank. We are interested in hearing from registered Theatre Nurses with relevant post-registration experience as well as ODPs to ensure that high quality, evidence-based and safe patient care is delivered at all times.
We can offer you a varied surgical caseload that will help you develop your skills and experience and you’ll enjoy the real respect, rapport and effective working of a close-knit, highly skilled, multidisciplinary team.
An excellent communicator and team worker, you must be flexible - able to work variable ad-hoc hours, motivated and committed to the highest standards of patient care.
Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust aims to be a hospital of choice for patients and an employer of choice for staff. In order to improve all aspects of the patient experience, we rely upon having a highly skilled, motivated, diverse, productive and patient focused workforce.
If you feel that you meet all the essential criteria outlined in the job description then please apply today.
