Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.
We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.
We want staff who will live our trust values every day.
Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable
This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.
All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.
Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.
Join a passionate Trust by the Sea! At Southend Hospital we strive to provide excellent care from excellent people.
The Area Southend is a lively and vibrant seaside town, most famous for having the world’s longest pier. It boasts excellent road and rail communications – central London is less than an hour away by train and the newly-expanded airport is introducing new routes all the time. The town is renowned for its wide variety of cultural and sporting opportunities, with top-class theatres, arts and music festivals and water sports. It also prides itself on offering a buzzing nightlife with clubs, excellent restaurants and bistros. There are outstanding shops as well as plenty of parks and open spaces.
Blenheim Ward at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a 27 bedded Medical ward with 4 acute rooms and a 6 bedded dialysis bay.
We are a busy ward with an emphasis in Nephrology. We have an opportunity to work with both medical and surgical patients as we care for all health needs of renal patients.
At Southend Hospital NHS Trust we strongly believe in patient care and want to attract like-minded people to help build and maintain a supportive and enjoyable place to work.
