Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.
We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.
We want staff who will live our trust values every day.
Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable
This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.
All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.
Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.
We’re looking for a capable and enthusiastic addition to our communications team. You will join a team responsible for the promoting the Trust in the media, with health partners, patients, and in the wider public arena, as well as communicating with Trust staff. Your skill and experience will:
- Assist us in the delivery of the communications and engagement strategy.
- Increase effectiveness in internal communications, external communications, digital and media relations functions.
- Ensure standards are met regarding quality of information, brand management and reputation.
You will bring your experience to a busy Trust with exciting plans and will work across all levels of the organisation to help develop its culture and ways of working as we work towards a merger with two other local acute Trusts.
You will contribute towards the positive impact our team has on our external image and the communications culture within the organisation.
