Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

Do you have a caring nature and want to make a difference?

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit and train compassionate Health Care Assistants who will work our core weekday shifts 7am-7pm Monday to Friday. Ideally you will have previous experience in a healthcare setting but you can also be successful by just portraying your passion and determination towards the role.

At our trust we strongly believe in patient care and want to attract likeminded people to help build and maintain a supportive and enjoyable place to work.

Interested?

We are looking to recruit candidates with various levels of experience and prepared to complete Care Certificate Standards within the first three months of employment. Candidates training to become a Registered Nurse can use this role to gain hands on experience and gain insight by learning from qualified Nurses. Those who have ample experience can use our in-house training program to develop themselves in other areas, such as IT and those who have little or no experience in a health care setting will attend our healthcare support workers (HSW) induction course to gain valuable skills that will enable them to be able to carry out the role.

Those with little or no experience will need to articulate their drive and passion for the role in the personal statement section of their application.

Experience of working in a health care setting is likely to support your application and those who have been out of work for a long period of time may benefit from gaining some work experience as a volunteer here at the trust. This will provide invaluable insight into how wards and departments function as well as provide a reference.

Benefits:

• Flexible work
• Access into the NHS
• Competitive rates of pay
• NHS pension scheme
• Access to our in-house training programs free of charge to develop your professional skills further.
