This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.

 All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery.  All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly.  Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making.  Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

We are looking to appoint a locum Clinical Fellow ST3+ to join our oncology team.

Recent strategic developments across the area as part of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) has seen the creation of a single integrated medical team for Oncology working across the three acute trust - Southend University Hospital, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital and Mid-Essex Hospital.

This post is will be based at Southend University Hospital.  The post is not recognised for training however support in developing a Learning Portfolio and regular educational appraisal with a Consultant Educator will be available.

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a Teaching Hospital, linked to the London University and is also the Cancer Centre for South Essex which is part of the Essex Cancer network. This busy DGH serves a population of 338,800. We currently employ 4,567 wte staff with a total complement of 190 Consultant staff. Situated in the South East of England, with excellent rail links to London.

The Trust has an excellent Postgraduate Medical Centre which carries a full programme of events and offers access to a Medical Library.
