Pharmacy Technical services unit, Southend Hospital
Specialist Pharmacist, Band 7
We are looking for a capable, experienced and highly motivated pharmacist to join the team in the Pharmacy Technical services unit. This post is fixed term for 12 months.
The Technical services unit employs 26 staff and is responsible for providing about 18,000 chemo doses a year among other aseptic products.
Working within the Technical services team the post holder will work alongside the Chief Technician for the day to day supervision of the unit.
Under the guidance of the Head of Technical Services, the post holder will ensure the safe, effective and timely provision of aseptic products to all patients in the Hospital.
This role will involve the final release of aseptic products. You will be required to train and supervise Band 6 Pharmacists and actively encourage adherence to all procedures relating to the aseptic department and Good Manufacturing Practice. (GMP).
Please note that previous aseptic experience is essential. Full training will be provided.
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
