Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

Southend University Hospital are recruiting two Clinical Fellows at Foundation Year 1 Level. The first post will be a permanent Acute Medicine only post. The second post will be for a fixed term until the 31st July 2018 rotating through Clinical Oncology, Cardiology and Urology.

These posts have been designed to develop junior doctors’ generic skills before entering the Foundation year 2 programme as expected by Modernising Medical Careers and will work in conjunction with the Foundation Year 1 training posts.

Although these posts have neither Royal College nor Postgraduate approval for training, they will be well supported by an allocated educational mentor.

The Trust has an excellent Postgraduate Medical Centre which carries a full programme of events and offers access to a Medical Library and education opportunities.

You must have an MBBS (or equivalent) and be eligible for Full Registration with the General Medical Council at the time of taking up the appointment.

Please find attached further information on both the Medical and Surgical Directorate, as well as a detailed job description and person specification. Should you feel you meet the required criteria, we would welcome you application for review.
