Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.

All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery.  All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly.  Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making.  Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far  more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.

An opportunity has arisen at Southend University Hospital to join a workforce with a reputation for excellence in the way it cares for the people it serves.

The Rehabilitation Service is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic experienced Junior or Senior II Occupational Therapist who is looking to join the Stroke Team. Applications are sought from individuals who are committed to providing high quality patient care with excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with a variety of people.

The successful candidate would ideally have completed a junior rotation within an acute stroke setting and be familiar with cognitive screening and functional assessments for this client group.
