Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.
We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.
We want staff who will live our trust values every day.
Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable
This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.
All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.
Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.
Time for a change?
Following the development of our brand new High Dependency Unit we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic part time Band 6 physiotherapist with a broad range of experience in core rotations to join our Acute Ward rotations. The post will commence working with the Band 7 Team Lead to provide a service to a 14 bedded critical care unit, offering an exciting opportunity to work alongside our nursing and consultant colleagues.
The rotations at Southend Hospital offer the opportunity to gain experience in the following areas:
Acute Respiratory Care Unit
In return we offer training and clinical development opportunities with a comprehensive in-service training program and regular clinical supervision. We provide additional support in order for staff to attend recognised courses within the area of the post to support staff development. The Rehabilitation Team is also committed to supporting the development of leadership skills at Band 6 encouraging staff to attend relevant courses provided by the Trust.
The role will include the supervision of students from University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire and the mentoring of Band 5 Physiotherapists, SRA’s and Rehabilitation Assistants.
At Southend Hospital NHS Trust we strongly believe in patient care and want to attract likeminded people to help build and maintain a supportive and enjoyable place to work, that’s why our Trust values are ‘Care with Compassion, Working Together and Professional & Accountable'.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
