This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.
All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery. All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.
By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly. Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making. Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Southend University is looking for an enthusiastic team player to work in our Pharmacy Dept as a Specialist Pharmacy Technician Technical Services.
The post holder will assist in the co-ordination of technical pharmacy services.
they will undertake the day to day supervision of activities and training of staff, other pharmacy technician and pharmacy assistants. The post holder will work in close collaboration with other professionals and follow set departmental procedures and policies as they work at all times and refer complex matters to the Chief Pharmacy Technician. The role includes manufacture aseptic preparations in the Aseptic unit, cytotoxic unit and Radiopharmacy Department and, assist with the introduction of new products
You will need to hold a BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ 3 or an equivalent Pharmacy Technician’s qualification, recognised by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and have at least 1 year practical experience in Technical services.
Hours are: Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm except when working in radiopharmacy when the start time will be 7am (on rota basis) and with extra hours required around bank Holidays on a rota basis.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
