Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the "as is" and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

Our Surgical Stambridge Ward is looking to recruit Registered Nurses.

The Ward is a 19 bedded Surgical Ward with a dedicated 5 bedded High Dependency Unit. The unit provides care, close monitoring and support for a variety of surgical procedures and patients during their admission at Southend Hospital.

The ward specialises in vascular surgery, but also has a dedicated step down facility with monitored beds for patients who are discharged from the HDU / or post-op patients requiring monitoring.

The Surgical HDU and the Ward offers the successful candidate a great deal of learning opportunities and self-development. They will be supported in their training needs to excel in caring for all surgical conditions and patient workload, but also to acquire and achieve management skills at a senior level.

Stambridge Ward is looking Registered Nurse's to join the team to ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient. The successful candidate will have post registration experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to use their initiative in managing their time appropriately. There will also be the opportunity to rotate onto the High Dependency Unit

Southend-On-Sea is an exciting place to live, work and enjoy life. Just under an hour from London and Europe (either by rail or air), Southend and the surrounding area is vibrant and cosmopolitan.

Local schools have an excellent reputation boasting 4 Grammar Schools, an excellent college and 2 local Universities. The nearby seaside provides a pleasant backdrop as well as opportunities for fun or relaxation. The attractive nearby town of popular Leigh-On-Sea provides an alternative location for many professionals to settle and wind down after work.
